We collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, profile details, and content you post. We also collect information automatically, including device information, IP address, browser type, operating system, usage patterns, and interaction data. When you use marketplace or payment features, we collect transaction details necessary to process payments. Location data may be collected with your consent to power features like Nearby and Dating.
We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve the Service; personalize your experience and content recommendations; facilitate messaging, social connections, and dating matches; process transactions and payments; send service-related notifications; detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; conduct analytics and research to improve our platform; and comply with legal obligations. We use AI-powered systems for content recommendations, safety moderation, and creator tools, which may process your data to deliver these features.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with service providers who assist us in operating the platform; other users as directed by your privacy settings (e.g., public posts, profile information); law enforcement or government agencies when required by law or to protect safety; business partners for integrated features you choose to use; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with appropriate protections. Marketplace transactions share necessary buyer/seller information to complete orders.
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention. Content shared in group chats or public posts may persist in other users' views even after account deletion. Backups are purged on a 90-day rolling cycle.
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256), regular security audits and penetration testing, access controls and authentication safeguards, and incident response procedures. Messages are encrypted end-to-end where indicated. Despite our efforts, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to maintain your session and preferences; analyze usage patterns and performance; deliver personalized content and recommendations; and remember your settings across visits. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings or our cookie consent banner. Essential cookies required for the Service to function cannot be disabled. The Service may contain links to or integrations with third-party services, including payment processors, analytics providers, and mini-apps. These third parties have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services. Mini-apps within Nexus operate in sandboxed environments with limited access to your data, which you can control through app permissions.
Nexus is not intended for children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we discover that we have collected information from a child under 16, we will promptly delete such information. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@nexus.app. Age verification may be required for certain features including Dating and Marketplace.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data: the right to access and receive a copy of your data; the right to correct inaccurate information; the right to delete your data (right to be forgotten); the right to restrict or object to processing; the right to data portability; the right to withdraw consent at any time; and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what data is collected and the right to opt out of data sales (we do not sell data). We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we will provide additional notice through email or in-app notification at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
